Students work with museum collections through hands-on projects and case studies. They learn to manage and interpret cultural objects in professional settings. The programme focuses on practical skills for preserving and sharing heritage. It prepares learners for roles in museums and cultural institutions.

Focus areas include Caring for Museum Collections, Collections Management, Curatorial Planning and Practice, Communicating Through Exhibitions, Community Engagement and Social Change, Contemporary Perspectives in Curatorship.

Four courses totaling six units of academic credit. Three core courses and one elective. Completion in under a year. Online delivery with optional face-to-face electives.

Graduates enter roles such as collections assistant, collections manager, conservator, curator, or archivist.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Minimum two years of related professional experience. Must be admissible to UVic.
