The PhD in Predicting Psychosis Journeys A Data Driven Approach With Predictive Modeling will be based in the School of Computing, supervised by Dr Alaa Mohasseb, Dr Rinat Khasinov, Professor Jim Briggs and Professor Robert Stewart, and will use the Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) dataset. The project focuses on using advanced machine learning and data analysis techniques to understand the journey of patients with psychosis in the secondary care system.

This research aims to develop predictive models using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning to identify distinct stages and trajectories of the patient journey, thereby informing timely and personalised interventions. The project also seeks to uncover hidden patterns and provide comprehensive insights into the progression of psychosis, ultimately contributing to more effective and tailored mental health care.

The PhD project will involve working on tasks such as obtaining and preprocessing sample datasets, conducting experiments, and building analysis and predictive models.
