Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing

Each week you will combine online learning, monthly virtual sessions and two mandatory face-to-face study days, plus a one-day assessment. You complete a minimum of 90 hours (12 days) of supervised practice in a clinical placement, using the SCRIPT e-learning programme and role-play simulations with expert patient actors to develop consultation and prescribing skills.

The six-month blended format is divided into an introductory online phase, the two study days that focus on core clinical assessment and communication, followed by a placement period where you apply learning under a Designated Prescribing Practitioner. Completion of the placement and assessment leads to the Practice Certificate.
