You will devote your weeks to developing an independent research project in creative writing, meeting regularly with an academic supervisor, attending research seminars, and refining drafts of both critical and creative work. The environment encourages close interaction with a research-active team, allowing you to explore topics such as life writing, creative non-fiction and experimental narrative forms.

A concise research proposal of no more than 1500 words is required, together with a 3,000-5,000-word sample of recent critical writing and a comparable sample of recent creative work (or 20-30 poems). The programme can be taken full-time over four years, with start dates on 1 October, 1 February or 1 June, offering flexibility for part-time options as well.
