About Postgraduate Certificate: Autism Education

Graduates move into specialist roles supporting autistic children and young adults in schools, hospitals, prisons, charities, museums, galleries, faith organisations and international development agencies. Many progress to educational administration, consultancy or government positions, and the 60 credits earned can be applied towards an MA in Inclusive Special Education.

The programme addresses the challenges of teaching autistic learners, exploring how to recognise their abilities, adapt inclusive classrooms and involve learners in decisions about their education. It delivers specialist knowledge through critical debate, theory and research, and is delivered part-time at the Bognor Regis campus.

  • Two core modules: Autism Education – Theory & Practice and Autism Education – Advances in Teaching & Learning.
  • 60 credits counted towards the MA Inclusive Special Education.
  • Evening and Saturday sessions on the Bognor Regis campus, including access to a modern Tech Park and Learning Resource Centre.
