Plumber Apprenticeship

This programme trains students to plan, install, and service plumbing systems for water, waste, gases, and hot liquids. Students gain hands-on experience in workshops while completing classroom instruction. The programme includes both plumbing and Gasfitter Class B training for those not already certified in Alberta. Graduates receive a Journeyperson Certificate and an education credential.

Focus areas include Water conditioners, Hydronic heating, Chilled water systems.

4 years, 1,560 hours on-the-job training annually, 8 weeks classroom instruction per year, 80% on-the-job, 20% classroom.

Graduates work as New Build Plumbers, Home Maintenance Plumbers, Plumbing Business Owners, Plumber Instructors, or Plumbing Inspectors.

ELA 30-2 and Math 30-3 and Physics 30 or Chem 30 or Science 30, or ELA 20-2 and Math 20-3 and Science 10, or pass Canadian GED, or pass AIT entrance exam.

On-campus, full-time, 4 years.
