Pharmacy technicians prepare and distribute medications in regulated healthcare settings. They work in hospitals and community pharmacies under pharmacist supervision. Their duties include compounding sterile products, dispensing prescriptions, and ensuring medication safety. They also support patient education and collaborate with healthcare teams.

Focus areas include dispensing, quality assurance, hospital and community pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical calculations, pharmacy legislation, sterile product preparation.

Two-year program with 32 weeks online in year one, 24 weeks online in year two. Includes in-person labs and 40 weeks of work experience in community and hospital pharmacies.

Graduates work as licensed pharmacy technicians in hospital and community settings, supporting medication management and patient care.

Grade 12 with minimum 70% in Pre-calculus 30 or Calculus 30, Biology 30, Chemistry 30, and 30-level English Language Arts. Minimum overall average of 65%. English proficiency required through NAPRA standards or equivalent. Criminal record check and immunization records required before practicum.

Hybrid delivery, on-campus labs, full-time, two years.
