You will spend more than 120 days in two partnership schools, gaining hands-on teaching experience from the start of the term and learning how to plan, deliver and assess lessons under the guidance of an experienced school-based mentor.

On successful completion you receive Qualified Teacher Status and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, which qualify you to teach in secondary schools across England and Wales in any of the subjects listed, and also give you a route onto school leadership, further study or specialist teaching roles.

The programme blends intensive university workshops, subject-specific seminars and professional studies, delivered by subject-specialist tutors who are practising teachers. Placements are organised with schools in Southampton, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight, and are matched to your home address and training needs to ensure a supportive, real-world environment.
