The programme provides 120 days of training and teaching experience in two placement schools, complemented by 20 days of intensive training shared between the university and partner schools and over 20 days of subject-specific training at university. This blend of continuous hands-on school experience and a thorough understanding of the school science curriculum prepares you to teach all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and GCSE, and to deliver chemistry to post-16 students.

Study is organised around four compulsory masters-level modules that are assessed at masters level and lead to the award of a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status. Placements are arranged with schools across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight, taking your residential location into account, and you receive dedicated support from an experienced school-based mentor. The course is accredited by Ofsted and the Department for Education.
