This advanced certificate prepares registered nurses to work as perioperative nurses in surgical environments. Graduates are qualified to practice as scrub nurses and circulating nurses. The program focuses on surgical care, aseptic technique, and patient safety. Students gain technical skills through online theory and hands-on lab and clinical training.

Eight months full-time or three years part-time. Online theory with one-week onsite lab and 10-week clinical practice. Five theory courses over 22 weeks full time.

Graduates are qualified to work as perioperative nurses in hospital operating rooms, ambulatory surgery centres, and freestanding clinics.

Current active registration with a provincial registered nurses' licensing body. English language requirement met through licensure. Must provide immunization records, CPR, TLR©, N95 mask testing, WHMIS, and criminal record check with vulnerable sector search.
