This stand-alone module offers healthcare professionals the opportunity to deepen their expertise in palliative and end-of-life care within a clinical context. Designed for those currently working in relevant healthcare environments, the curriculum focuses on the essential tenets of nursing in palliative settings, providing a robust framework for symptom management and patient care.

Core Clinical Focus

The module provides a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted nature of palliative nursing, with specific emphasis on:

• The patho-physiological nature of pain and its management
• Pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain relief strategies
• Nursing assessment and intervention for gastrointestinal, respiratory, and metabolic symptoms

Upon successful completion, students are awarded 20 CATS points, which may be applied toward further academic awards. This delivery is structured as a blended learning experience, combining online resources with face-to-face sessions to accommodate the schedules of practicing clinicians.
