About Bachelor in Occupational Therapy BSc (Hons) - Degree Apprenticeship

Accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), this BSc (Hons) Degree Apprenticeship lets you study while being paid through your employer. The three-year, full-time course is delivered on-site at Preston Campus.

Occupational therapy examines how everyday activities influence health and wellbeing, addressing barriers and enablers across the lifespan. The curriculum covers foundational sciences, therapeutic skills and evidence-based practice, ensuring you meet the RCOT benchmark. Study is combined with four practice placements, giving you hands-on experience in hospitals, schools, community services and other settings.

Supported by experienced therapists and the university’s occupational therapy community, you develop professional identity, research skills and reflective practice, preparing you for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. You also attend learning sessions away from the workplace, including work in the Comensus facility where you observe the impact of health conditions on daily life. Graduates are ready to manage client caseloads and lead service improvements.
