Graduates of the 2-year MSc Adult Nursing (Pre-registration) programme go on to become Registered Nurses (Adult) and are recruited by a wide range of clinical settings, from NHS Trust hospitals to community nursing, specialist care areas, and outpatient departments in both the voluntary and private sectors.

The programme is based at the Ipswich campus and includes 2300 hours of clinical practice during placements with practice providers. Throughout the course, students work with practice assessors and supervisors who support development in clinical environments. This includes experience in acute wards, community nursing, specialist care, and outpatient departments. Students are expected to work both day and night shifts, including weekends, to maximize learning opportunities. The programme includes modules such as 'Foundations of Nursing: Professional, Ethical and Legal Basis' and 'Applied Biosciences and Fundamentals of Nursing Practice', among others.

Students are assessed in practice environments, which focus on developing competence in areas covered in the practice assessment document. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requires that students learn and are assessed in these environments. Professional values are assessed through these modules, with theory hours allocated for practice preparation, consolidation, e-learning, and tutorial support. The course is delivered through a mix of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, and skills-based practical workshops, with guided study activities through the online learning platform Brightspace.
