About Bachelor in Midwifery (B.Sc.), berufsbegleitend

Graduates of the Midwifery (B.Sc.) programme go on to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices, or pursue further study in related fields. This berufsbegleitende (part-time) programme is designed for already qualified midwives, who bring their state-recognised professional training into the programme with them to start in the fourth semester. This unique structure allows students to balance work and study, with modules delivered in two block weeks per semester and additional online days. The programme includes a Praxisprojekt, where students apply scientific research methods to real-world midwifery situations, and offers an optional Auslandssemester in the seventh semester, with 20 ECTS credits available at a partner university. Students also receive a 'Berufspädagogische Zusatzqualifikation zur Praxisanleitung' certificate, which qualifies them to teach in practice settings.

A dedicated Skills- und Simulationslabor is available for those choosing the 'Professionsentwicklung – Simulationstraining' elective module. Throughout the programme, students maintain a Berufs- und Lern-Portfolio, documenting their competencies and reflecting on their learning process.
