A hallmark of the programme is the higher-level group project in the final year, where you apply engineering principles to a real-world challenge and work collaboratively – an experience highly valued by industry. The integrated foundation year gives students without traditional qualifications a route onto the MEng, covering essential maths, engineering drawing and CAD tools before entering the core engineering curriculum.

Throughout the five-year course you will use the £35 m Engineering Innovation Centre’s CNC machines, composite workshops, wind-tunnel and additive-manufacturing lab, and you will be taught by staff with both research and industry backgrounds. Weekly sessions combine lectures, seminars and hands-on practicals, and you can join the Innovation Club to work on commercial projects. The curriculum meets Engineering Council AHEP4 standards, preparing graduates for roles in aerospace, automotive, energy and defence, or for professional registration.
