Polish Naval Academy

Master in Mechanical engineering

Gdynia, Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

In Gdynia, Poland, the Polish Naval Academy's Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering offers this master's degree taught in English over three semesters. It is aimed at graduates with defined technical interests, together with people already working on merchant ships, in shipping agencies, shipyards, and business organizations running offshore and onshore energy installations, and at enterprises using measurement and control equipment and embedded IT systems. The faculty's research activity covers the construction and operation of marine machinery, including power plants, machinery diagnostics, and diving equipment, an area where the faculty has extensive experience with light alloy construction materials for shipbuilding; shock resistance and the design of numerical equipment and construction materials; control and digital automation, along with data processing, imaging, and transfer in shipboard systems; support for ship command processes and design of integrated systems for controlling marine power plants; and identification and modelling of multidimensional objects using artificial neural networks. Students graduating from the engineering and construction of machines course acquire knowledge of the technology, construction, and operation of marine machines, combining theory with the practical use of modern computer techniques that support engineering work. On Poland's Baltic coast, Gdynia serves as a hub for the maritime sector, and the Polish Naval Academy prepares engineers for careers connected to shipping, naval operations, and offshore energy, both domestically and internationally. This master's track builds directly on undergraduate engineering training, deepening technical specialization in marine mechanical and electrical systems for those pursuing careers connected to the shipping and offshore sectors.
