Master in Mathematics and Computer Science

The Master's programme in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Augsburg is an interdisciplinary four-semester degree that combines the two fields in roughly equal proportions. The programme reflects the growing connections between mathematics and computer science: mathematics increasingly requires algorithmic grounding in areas such as optimisation, statistics, data science, and image processing, while computer science increasingly depends on mathematical foundations in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, process mining, and quantum computing. A seminar and project module component includes one seminar in each discipline, an application module, and a scientific project supervised on a one-to-one basis.
