Materials Technician Apprenticeship (Year 1 and 3)

Graduates are qualified to work as Materials Technicians in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and transportation. The programme trains students to manage the movement, storage, and tracking of materials. Students learn inventory systems, shipping logistics, warehousing safety, and material classification. Hands-on training includes real tools, field trips, and guest speakers.

Three-year apprenticeship with 1,500 hours of on-the-job training and six weeks of classroom instruction each year. Two periods of classroom training are offered at RDP.

Graduates work as Materials Technicians in manufacturing, oil and gas, transportation, and retail industries.

ELA 30-2 and Math 30-3, or ELA 10-2 and Math 10-3, or pass on all five Canadian GED tests, or successful completion of AIT’s entrance exam.

On-campus and online delivery. Full-time. Six weeks on campus each year.
