Master of Science Mathematics Münster

The MSc Mathematics Münster is a research-oriented programme that offers in-depth study across a broad spectrum of pure and applied mathematics. The curriculum is built around more than 40 professors covering major areas including algebra, applied analysis, differential geometry and geometric analysis, logic, numerics and scientific computing, operator algebras and noncommutative geometry, probability theory and its applications, and topology. The four-semester programme is structured around foundational and advanced modules, which students select from the full breadth of available mathematical fields. This gives students considerable flexibility to build a study plan aligned with their interests. Module types include broadening courses, specialisation modules, modules for personal enrichment, a supplementary module, optional minor subject modules (mainly taught in German), and the Master's thesis. The thesis is prepared in collaboration with a department member during the final semesters. The programme can begin in either the winter or summer semester. The programme is based at the University of Münster in Münster, Germany.
