Avondale’s Master of Arts (MA) builds on the Biblical Spirituality core units CMIN51100, THBB56600, and CMIN52110, which are mandatory for all students, and offers specialisations in Pastoral Leadership, Chaplaincy Studies, Theology/Biblical Studies, and Youth and Family Ministry. Pastoral Leadership students gain perspectives on Luke-Acts and mission, while Chaplaincy Studies students engage in clinical pastoral education and therapeutic communication. Theology/Biblical Studies students delve into recent approaches to the parables of Jesus, and students in the Youth and Family Ministry specialisation focus on advanced lifespan development and contemporary culture. Students have the option to choose elective units from any Master’s course, or to pursue a research project, which can be extended to 15,000 words. The programme is designed for those with a Bachelor of Ministry and/or Theology or equivalent, or Avondale’s Graduate Certificate in Arts, who have at least two years of ministry or chaplaincy experience.
