The Master in Accountancy consolidates and enhances the accounting knowledge acquired at undergraduate level. The postgraduate course provides the tools needed to become an effective Accountancy professional and to contribute towards the Accountancy profession. The programme extends over two years of full-time study, with lectures held during the day across five days a week.

Students develop a refined and advanced understanding of accountancy, ranging from auditing and taxation to financial reporting and risk transfer, and demonstrate this knowledge through a research-based dissertation.

Entry Requirements (International Applicants)

Applicants must be in possession of one of the following:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Malta with Accountancy as one of the two main areas, obtained with at least Category II and a minimum average of 60% in the Years 2 and 3 Accountancy units
  2. Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accountancy and Information Systems, obtained with at least Second Class Honours and a minimum average of 60% in the Accountancy units

English Test Requirement

IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in each of Writing, Reading, Listening, Speaking); TOEFL iBT 95 overall / min. 24 Writing (pre-January-2026 scale) or 5 overall / min. 5 Writing (January-2026-onwards scale); or equivalent: Cambridge Advanced Certificate Grade C or better, Pearson PTE Academic 71 (min. 65 per element), Trinity ISE III Merit in all skills, or ISET Band 6. Results must be issued within 2 years of course commencement and be a Secure English Language Test (SELT).
