Graduates of the Maritiem Officier programme go on to careers as navigators, engineers, or safety officers for shipping companies such as Holland America Line, or in roles like harbour pilot, surveyor, or technical manager, both at sea and on land. With a duration of 4 years, this programme provides a comprehensive education in navigation, ship handling, cargo operations, and technical systems.

You’ll start with a solid foundation in navigation, cargo handling, and technical skills, followed by a 5-month internship on a merchant ship. In the third year, you specialize as either a navigator or marine engineer, and in the fourth year, you complete a minor and a final project. The programme emphasizes practical skills, with modules in firefighting, first aid, and survival techniques. International opportunities are highlighted, with stages on foreign ships and learning maritime English.
