Bachelor in Management

International Management in Emerging Markets, offered as a bachelor's degree in management at Poznan University of Economics and Business, is taught in English over three years. The program responds to a demand for professionals who understand how to manage businesses and processes in fast-growing regions such as the BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India, and China, as well as other emerging markets across Eastern Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. As international corporations open subsidiaries in these markets to reach new sales opportunities, they need staff educated specifically to manage operations there, a gap this program is designed to address. Students gain a multidisciplinary understanding of both the economic and business environments of emerging markets and the theory and practice of managing organizations of different sizes and types operating within them. Coursework builds understanding of the factors behind high economic growth in these regions, the evolution of their business environments, and the opportunities and risks that accompany rapid market growth, alongside finance, people management, operations, policy, and strategy specific to running a business under emerging-market conditions. Group work forms part of the learning approach, giving students practice collaborating on the kinds of cross-cultural business problems they may face after graduation. Graduates are positioned for roles in multinational companies expanding into emerging markets, international consulting firms, and organizations that need managers able to operate across both established and rapidly developing economies.
