Master in MA Advanced Social Work (Part Time) 2026/27

Each week you combine live workshops – either in-person or online – with self-directed study. Modules typically include two to three half-day workshops, reading lists, podcasts and pre-recorded presentations, plus online discussion boards where you debate case studies with peers and academic staff.

Written coursework asks you to link research, theory and everyday practice, encouraging reflection on your interventions and the development of evidence-informed approaches.

Graduates progress into senior social work or advanced practitioner posts, team management, become approved mental health professionals, practice educators or academic tutors. Some continue onto doctoral research. The part-time format spreads study over up to five years, allowing you to balance professional commitments while accessing university support services.
