About Master in M2 Quantum, Light, Materials and Nano Sciences - Site Orsay

The M2 Quantum, Light, Materials and Nano Sciences programme at Orsay offers three key orientations: "Light and Matter", "Condensed matter and its interfaces", and "Nanodevices and Technologies". These orientations are supported by core modules that cover fundamental concepts and interdisciplinary themes, as well as specialised modules focused on each orientation. Students can choose from a range of modules, such as 'Introduction to quantum information: qubits, entanglement and decoherence', 'Light Matter interaction', and 'Introduction to second quantization: from quantum optics to condensed matter'. The programme also includes a mandatory 18-week internship, which can be completed in France or abroad, in areas such as quantum technologies, nanophotonics, and spintronics.

This programme is specifically designed for students with a background in physics or equivalent, including those who have completed a M1 in Physics, E3A, or a similar programme. It is also open to international students and engineering students in their third year. The programme aims to develop skills in analysing scientific articles, creating new knowledge, and adapting to new environments. Students will also learn to communicate effectively with various audiences, including academic and industry stakeholders.
