About Master in M2 Mathématiques pour les sciences du vivant

Graduates of the M2 Mathematics for the Sciences of Life (MSV) programme enter careers in academia, industry, and finance, including roles as researchers, biomedical engineers, and data scientists. The programme, anchored in mathematics, covers a broad range of mathematical competencies, including concepts in biology, ecology, and statistics, with specialisations in modelling for life sciences.

Students spend two semesters from September to April on campus in Orsay, Gif-sur-Yvette, Paris 15, and Palaiseau, then complete a mandatory four-month internship or research project. Students are supported by dedicated tutors, Camille Coron and Eva Locherbach, who play a pivotal role in guiding students through the programme. The curriculum includes modules like 'Concepts fondamentaux de la biologie et de l'écologie', 'Optimisation et simulation numérique', 'Modélisation probabilistes et statistiques pour l'épidémiologie', and 'Processus stochastiques'.
