The M1 Développement durable programme at Université Paris-Saclay introduces the economics of climate change, from its historical and political perspectives to current debates and methodologies. The programme's multidisciplinary approach integrates economics, sociology, anthropology, and the natural sciences. The curriculum is built around four competency blocks. In the first semester, students encounter foundational modules such as Economie du développement 1 and Science de la durabilité 1, while the second semester offers specialised modules like Economie du développement 2 and Science de la durabilité 2.

Students also engage in a stage or research mémoire, and a module on Anglais approfondi thématique to enhance language skills. The programme prepares students for Master 2 studies in Science de la durabilité and Science politique. The university's commitment to interdisciplinarity is reflected in the integration of research themes from laboratories such as the Laboratoire interdisciplinaire des Énergies de Demain (LIED) and the Centre de Sociologie des Organisations (CSO).
