This three-year apprenticeship programme combines classroom instruction with on-the-job training. Students learn to install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electronic locking systems. The programme includes eight weeks of classroom instruction each year and 1,560 hours of on-the-job training. Delivery is blended, with on-campus lab weeks required annually.

Graduates work as locksmiths in locksmithing companies, security firms, and institutions.

ELA 30-2 and Math 30-3, or ELA 10-2 and Math 10-3, or pass on all five Canadian GED tests, or successful completion of AIT’s entrance exam.
