Master in Journalism (MJ)

Applications are due September entry: 1 April (international), 1 June (Canadian); January entry: 31 August (international), 31 October (Canadian).

Each week you will move between reporting workshops, data-journalism labs and visual-storytelling sessions, producing news stories, analysing datasets and creating multimedia content. Core modules such as Advanced Reporting, Visual Storytelling and Data Journalism build practical skills, while you develop a major professional project under faculty supervision, integrating research, writing and production.

The signature element of this master’s programme is the professional project – a publishable piece of investigative journalism that you design and execute with guidance from industry professionals, a feature not offered by many Canadian journalism masters.

Graduates are prepared for roles in newsrooms, government and communications.
