Students in the United Nations Seminar and the Washington Seminar on National Security at Suffolk University visit the UN headquarters in New York City and the US capitol meeting with policymakers in security, aid, and peacekeeping, and members of the defense and intelligence communities.

In the Suffolk University Political Research Center, students participate in a range of programs, including the Inside Washington Seminar, where they have met and spoken with leaders like US Representatives Ayanna Pressley and Joe Kennedy, former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, and former Secretary of State John Kerry as well as Campaign and Inauguration Seminars in presidential election years. Students also gain expertise in the Study Abroad Fair and the International Relations Club. Students in our international relations program will study global political power, ideas, ideologies, legislation, strategy, and conflict and develop negotiation and diplomacy skills. You’ll write expertly in a variety of international policy domains, including policy analysis, op-eds, research papers, and policy memos, and engage effectively with people from different cultures, aided by language learning and study abroad experiences. Students learn how to code using R, an open-source statistical software.
