About Inclusive Child Care Certificate

Students complete practicum experiences in the Okanagan Region to apply inclusive practices with young children and families. They study theories and strategies for supporting children with diverse abilities in real-world settings. Courses focus on family-centered, culturally responsive care and inclusive program development. The program prepares students to work in early childhood education with a focus on inclusion.

1 year, full-time or part-time, includes a practicum, online delivery with two evening classes per week.

Graduates qualify to become Special Needs Educators registered with the British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Registry.

Satisfactory completion of the ECE Certificate program or a current BC ECE Registry Certificate to Practice. Evidence of current First Aid with Child Safe and Infant CPR. Criminal record check from the B.C. Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General's Criminal Records Review Office. Minimum 70% in each course and pass in the practicum.

Online, full-time or part-time, 1 year duration.
