Students start with the Advanced Statistical Methods for Health Research module, where they apply sophisticated statistical techniques to real health datasets using SPSS, and continue with applications in Big Data, decision analytic modelling and data mining across two semesters. Online lectures are delivered three evenings per week, allowing participants to balance study with professional commitments.

The Certificate is aimed at health professionals, data analysts, recent graduates or anyone holding a NFQ Level 6 qualification who has demonstrated numeracy and problem-solving skills. Applicants with at least five years of relevant industry experience can also gain entry through the Recognised Prior Learning route, making the programme accessible to those already working in the sector.

A distinctive aspect is the Level 7 Certificate of Science in Health Data Analytics offered fully online on a part-time basis, aligning with national initiatives such as Slaintecare, the eHealth strategy and the Digital Transformation strategy. Funding may be available via Next Level Skillnet for eligible candidates.
