About the Program

Our course gives you advanced postgraduate training in forensic science, with the option to specialise in areas such as toxicology, arson, and ballistics. You’ll take part in crime scene exercises in our dedicated facilities, learning strategies for examination and techniques used in real-world investigations. You’ll also gain a comprehensive overview of a range of forensic science skills and explore key industry issues such as quality control, evidence presentation, and preparing to defend your findings in court. This course includes modules in analytical sciences, covering the latest technological developments and applications, including instrumental techniques for analysing organic compounds, metals, and solids. You’ll also learn to recognise possible sources of error, enabling accurate interpretation of experimental data. The course is two-thirds taught modules and one-third research project, giving you both practical and theoretical experience in forensic chemistry.

English Test Requirement

The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
