Those who focus on a surface approach are guided to create rectilinear textile forms and then work intuitively and sculpturally on the body, exploring the inherent qualities of the fabrics. Students concentrating on silhouette are encouraged to take experimental and imaginative approaches to three-dimensional form, cut, shape and construction methods.Throughout the programme, students embrace a playful, unrestrained dress-up box approach to fashion subverting and disrupting craft and clothing conventions. The programme supports students in moving effortlessly and expertly between 2D and 3D, making spontaneous and reasoned responses, considering the outermost and innermost details, and designing responsibly for optimum social, environmental and cultural impact.
