The bachelor's programme in European Studies at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, in Lublin, Poland, is taught in English over three years, with yearly tuition of 8,640 PLN. The programme studies the phenomenon of European integration with a strong focus on the legal aspects of what is described as the process of creating an ever closer union among the peoples of Europe. Graduates obtain qualifications as Specialists for European Affairs and become fluent in the areas that form a key part of European legal regulations. They develop expertise in European problems and acquire professional skills in demand on the European labour market, allowing them to work as specialists in European Union institutions and organizations across a number of sectors, including the European Parliament, or to find employment at all levels of civil service and self-government, or to build careers in education, media, law, publishing, business and finance. Students undertake 180 hours of compulsory work experience as part of the degree. Strong cooperation with national and international institutions creates opportunities for placement or internships at organisations across the public and private sectors, including the European Parliament, the European Commission Representation Office in Warsaw, the Representation of the European Commission in Warsaw, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, units of central and local government, EU Funds departments, the Rule of Law Institute Foundation, and other non-governmental organisations. Students can also take part in the Erasmus Exchange Programme, taking advantage of study-abroad opportunities. This combination of legal grounding, practical work experience and exchange opportunities positions graduates for careers connected to European institutions and international affairs.
