This seven-semester bachelor's programme in Engineering for Sustainability centres entirely on project-based learning rooted in mechanical engineering, with a consistent focus on sustainable approaches to climate change and resource scarcity. Rather than traditional lectures and seminars, students work in teams in laboratories and in self-study, applying theoretical knowledge directly to practical problems. A mentor supports students closely in the first semester, during which several smaller projects introduce the project-based learning model. As studies progress, projects grow in complexity and challenge. Students shape their own learning paths, choosing to develop deep expertise in a specific area or a broader generalist profile. The sixth semester is devoted to practical work experience at a company or organisation in the field, and the seventh semester is reserved for the bachelor's thesis, which emphasises practical relevance and frequently involves collaboration with industry partners.
