Electrical Engineering Technology - Automation and Control

This programme trains technicians for work in industrial automation and control systems. It covers programming industrial robots and automated equipment, installing and maintaining complex electrical systems, and supporting engineers in designing new automated processes. Training includes theory and hands-on practice in real-world settings.

Courses include electrical circuits, robotics, programmable logic controllers, energy distribution, and system diagnostics. Two paid co-op placements are completed during summer sessions, providing up to six months of professional experience. These placements help build a resume, confirm career choice, and develop industry contacts.

Admission requires a secondary school diploma with specific math and science courses. The programme has 70 available spots and is typically limited to the first round of the SRAM application process. It starts in the fall and winter sessions, with applications opening in January and September respectively.
