Electric vehicles bring new challenges for automotive technicians, from high-voltage safety to battery management and digital diagnostics. The programme covers how electric powertrains operate, how faults in high-voltage systems are diagnosed, and how the business implications of maintaining these vehicles are evaluated.

The qualification is delivered over one part-time year on a blended basis: evening distance-learning sessions totalling about six hours per week, complemented by five intensive in-house weekend training days. Coursework is split across two semesters, each comprising mandatory modules that build from fundamental thermodynamics and battery technology to advanced high-voltage fault diagnosis and business innovation.
