The Master's degree programme in Economic Policy and Journalism at TU Dortmund University combines training in journalism with graduate-level economics education. It is designed for graduates with a BA in Economics or a closely related field who want to develop professional journalistic skills alongside their economic knowledge. The programme runs over four semesters and can begin in either the winter or summer semester. The first semester covers basic journalism training, research techniques, writing practice, and an introduction to economic policy journalism. The second and third semesters integrate advanced journalism training with MA-level economics courses and include one internship each at media organisations. The fourth semester is dedicated to MA-level economics courses, an MA colloquium, and the thesis. Two internships are included in total. Graduates develop proficiency across print, broadcast, and digital media, and become able to analyse and communicate complex economic developments clearly.
