About Doctoral Programme in One Health

Applications are due 2026-09-15.

The Doctoral Programme in One Health takes an interdisciplinary approach to questions that connect the health of humans, animals, and the environment. Research in the program addresses emerging infectious diseases, food safety, animal and human well-being, and environmental change, investigating scientific questions that cross species boundaries and draw on knowledge from multiple fields. Doctoral training is based primarily on independent scientific research and collaboration within the research community. The program develops skills in designing and carrying out scientific research, producing and critically evaluating knowledge, solving scientific and practical problems, working in multidisciplinary teams, and communicating science to both expert and general audiences. Graduates are prepared for careers in both academic research and expert appointments in Finland and internationally. The four-year program begins in September 2026 at the University of Helsinki in Helsinki, Finland.
