Doctoral Programme in Biology, Geography and Geology

This doctoral programme offers interdisciplinary training in natural sciences within the Faculty of Science. Traditional areas of strength include ecology, evolutionary biology, biodiversity, environmental science, physiology, genetics, physical geography, human geography, and geology. The doctoral degree consists of a dissertation and its public defence, together with postgraduate studies totalling 40 credits. The expected workload is three to four years of full-time study, though part-time completion is also possible. The programme starts in September 2026 at the University of Turku in Turku.
