The programme runs over three years. In the first year you study in the purpose-built Dental School, developing clinical skills and the scientific basis of oral health. Towards the end of the year you begin placements in one of four primary-care Dental Education Centres (DECs) where you treat patients under supervision. Years two and three are spent primarily in the DECs, with the third year adding an enhanced training practice. You study alongside dental surgery and clinical dental technology students, reflecting the collaborative nature of modern dental teams.

Each week you attend laboratory sessions in a modern phantom-head suite, practise preventive and restorative techniques, and role-play communications with actors. In the DECs you manage real patient appointments, perform procedures such as inhalation sedation, suture removal and tooth whitening, and record reflections on professionalism. Small class sizes support interactive learning and frequent feedback.
