Serving nearly 19,500 students, the university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in media, architecture, business, law, and the creative arts. Its central location provides easy access to cultural institutions, employers and professional networks that enrich learning beyond the classroom.

Students benefit from practical learning opportunities including placements, live projects and industry-linked modules that build employable skills. Small-group teaching in many courses supports personalised feedback while research-active staff bring current industry insights into seminars and studios. The campus environment is multicultural and student services include academic support, careers guidance and wellbeing resources to help international learners settle and succeed.

For prospective international students, Westminster offers strong links to London’s creative and commercial sectors and a programme of orientation and language support to ease transition. Career-focused workshops, employer showcases and alumni connections help graduates move quickly into internships and jobs. Consider Westminster if you want a centrally located university that emphasizes professional readiness, hands-on projects and vibrant city life.

About the Program

The programme makes full use of Westminster’s central London location, offering regular off-site learning such as visits to the High Court of Justice, prisons, theatres and museums, and a Year 3 field trip – for example the 2023 Baltic states visit to criminal-justice institutions.

The one-year Foundation pathway prepares students without traditional qualifications to progress onto the BA Honours degree. It provides a solid grounding in criminology as an interdisciplinary subject, covering the definition of crime, criminal law, power, victimisation and the social, cultural and structural factors that shape criminalisation. Core modules such as Crime and Society, Critical Thinking in a Changing World and Law, Power and Authority develop analytical, research and critical-thinking skills, while optional and elective modules let you explore topics from the London underworld to forensic criminal psychology.

Graduates find roles in policing, probation, local government and research.
