The programme focuses on the statistical, computational and visualisation techniques that underpin modern data science. You study applied statistics and probability, introductory programming with Python, applied linear algebra and data analytics and visualisation, each linked to real-world engineering and scientific problems.

Modules are delivered through a mixture of video lectures, practical labs and project work, allowing you to develop skills that are directly applicable in industry or research. The part-time format spreads the 90 credits over 2.5 years, making it compatible with professional commitments. Assessment combines coursework, programming assignments and a final capstone project where you apply the methods to a dataset of your choice.
