The programme is delivered over a single full-time year and is split into two teaching terms. In Term 1 you study Embryological and Developmental Basis of Disease (20 credits) and Form, Function and Dysfunction (30 credits); Term 2 adds Anatomy in the Clinical Environment (20 credits). A 50-credit Project runs throughout the year, culminating in a 15 000-word dissertation and a research presentation.

Graduates return to their medical or dental degree with an enhanced anatomical knowledge that is highly valued in foundation-programme applications, academic foundation routes and clinical post-graduate training. The experience of clinical placements, extensive dissection and research prepares students for roles in surgery, radiology, interventional specialties and research environments.
