The Classical Studies program at the University of Geneva offers a unique opportunity for students interested in the ancient world. This three-year bachelor’s degree focuses on five disciplines: Greek, Latin, Ancient History, Classical Archaeology, and the History of Ancient Religions. It is ideal for students who are passionate about languages and literature and wish to pursue a career in academia or secondary education.

Students will engage deeply with the languages and literatures of the Greco-Roman world, studying them within their historical, material, and religious contexts. The curriculum includes modules in both Greek and Latin, ensuring that students achieve proficiency in at least one classical language. This multidisciplinary approach prepares graduates for a variety of roles in education and research.

Graduates of the Classical Studies program can pursue various academic paths, including a Master of Arts in Letters with a focus on one of 28 disciplines. Potential job titles include High School Teacher, Archaeologist, Historian, and Researcher. The skills acquired are transferable to many fields, including education, research, and cultural heritage management.
