Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology

Tuition is CAD 4,500 per year.

This programme prepares individuals for civil engineering careers through hands-on training in design, construction planning, and materials testing. Courses cover structural design, project management, and site supervision. Learning happens in classrooms, labs, and on construction sites. Students use modern surveying tools and computer-aided design software. The programme lasts three years with alternating study and work terms.

Two paid co-op placements occur during summer sessions. These provide up to six months of real-world experience. Placements allow students to explore different work environments, confirm career choices, and build professional contacts. Students learn to analyze materials, calculate construction quantities, and create detailed plans for buildings, roads, and infrastructure. They also study managing construction projects from start to finish, including cost estimation and scheduling.

Graduates have a 94% job placement rate. Many work in engineering firms, construction companies, government agencies, and material testing labs. About 49% of graduates continue to university to earn bachelor's degrees in civil or building engineering. Transfer options include Polytechnique, ÉTS, Sherbrooke, McGill, and Concordia with direct access to engineering programmes.
