About the Program

Warsaw University of Technology, in Warszawa, Poland, offers this bachelor's program in Civil engineering, taught in English over 8 semesters, with yearly tuition of 10000 EUR. Civil engineering deals with the construction of facilities such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, airports, railways, highways, and environmental systems, and civil engineers generally carry out the planning, design, construction and reconstruction, and operation and maintenance of these facilities. The program builds knowledge and skills in executing, operating, and modernizing buildings and civil engineering structures, cost pricing, and the legal and administrative issues involved in the construction industry, along with computer methods that support design and the investment process. Over the 4-year Bachelor program, students cover mathematics, physics, mechanics, and chemistry, which underpin much of the engineering knowledge taught; social sciences and humanities, which broaden students' perspective and prepare them for professional interaction with people; a core of basic civil engineering subjects including structures, surveying, transportation, materials science, management, and environment; and integrated sets of optional and elective courses chosen by students. After completing the third year, students choose a specialization for the fourth year, and depending on the number of interested students, two specializations are offered each year from among Civil Engineering Structures, Construction Engineering and Management, and Energy-saving Construction. Graduates of civil engineering bachelor's programs typically enter construction firms, design offices, or public infrastructure agencies, or continue into master's-level study to deepen their specialization.
