Bachelor in BUT Hygiène Sécurité Environnement (HSE)

At the University of South Brittany, the BUT Hygiène Sécurité Environnement (HSE) specialises in training experts on all scientific, technological, and management aspects of risk evaluation and control in just three years.

The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including identifying risk sources in a company's activities, evaluating and mitigating risks, implementing safety protocols, emergency response, and advising on health, safety, and environmental standards. This programme is unique with its national scope and based in Lorient, France. The BUT HSE leverages partnerships with the ENSIBS and the SDIS 56, offering a specialized Sapeur Pompier Volontaire Integrated Pathway for 8 students annually. There are also strong links with local secondary schools, particularly Bac pro 'Métiers de la sécurité' at the Lycée Saint-Joseph Lorient, and international partners like the Alliance Emerge.
