Building Systems Technician

This programme is designed for recent graduates and career changers seeking technical training in building systems. Students learn to maintain and operate electrical, ventilation, refrigeration, and water treatment systems. Practical activities and a work placement build troubleshooting skills in real-world settings. The programme prepares students for industry certification exams.

One-year full-time programme with a second-semester work placement; no co-op or practicum credits specified beyond the placement.

Graduates work in building systems maintenance and operation in medium to large buildings such as apartment blocks, hotels, malls, schools, and health facilities.

Grade 12 completion required. English language requirement must be met. Alternative admission available through ACCUPLACER© scores: 250 Arithmetic, 247 Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics, 250 Reading, 245 Writing. Post-secondary credits may also satisfy requirements.

On-campus, full-time, one year.
